Audi planning their own version of the electric VW e-Up

Perhaps the most promising EVs from Audi so far have been the A2 EV (pictured above) and the A1 range extender with a small Wankel engine in the boot to charge the battery. But even they were dropped from Audi’s production plans last year. But now it seems Audi are back in the production EV game with plans to produce an Audi e-tron using the underpinnings of the electric VW e-Up, but with Audi styling and an upmarket Audi interior and high-end Infotainment.

The 1980s classic cars that could become MOT-free

A change of law in 2012 meant that cars registered before 1960 no longer have to pass the yearly test for roadworthiness known as the MOT. However, a new EU directive means that, from 2018, this could be extended to all cars more than 30 years old, as long as they haven’t been substantially modified. Nissan might delay U.S. EV output

Japan's earthquake and tsunami may force Nissan to delay the start of U.S. production of its Leaf electric vehicle, now scheduled for late 2012. "The earthquake is putting us in a very difficult situation," said Hideaki Watanabe, head of Nissan's Global Zero Emission Vehicle Business Unit.
